There must also be spare escape sets on board and a number of sets available for training. With Passenger Ships, regulations state there must be at least two EEBDs carried in each main vertical zone with at least four per zone. Most EEBDs provide 15 minutes to escape out from danger. However, an EEBD should never be used for fire-fighting purpose or life-saving purposes.
